I have a suggestion...

Medals!
You reward certain medals for various things, like surviving an event. You'd then get the "Survivor of [Event]" and then you can give each event a cool name.
Or maybe you did something super awesome like gave your life to save everyone else or something, and you could get a medal for that.
It would be a good way to get people to turn up to events.

Yeah... I've been discussing that for the past three days actuary, we need a better way of getting in contact.

Also you will auto get one for the feat of shooting the opponents dart out of the air, remember that?

There could be two different types of medal.
Lesser Medal - Awarded for a repeatable act of skill, valour, luck cunning etc.
Greater Medal - Awarded for a one time achievement like surviving an event.
